Secondary Year 7 & 8 Boys & Girls Swimming

Each team must consist of 4 swimmers. Each team member will take part in a maximum of 3 events – 1 individual and 2 relay races.

There will be separate team competitions for boys and girls using the following events:

• 25m freestyle                                      –  1 swimmer per school
• 25m butterfly                                       –  1 swimmer per school
• 25m breast stroke                              –  1 swimmer per school
• 25m back stroke                                 –  1 swimmer per school
• 4 x 25m Medley Relay                        –  4 swimmers per school @ 1 for each stroke

(back : breast : fly : free)

• 4x 25m Freestyle Relay –  4 swimmers per school

Students who have competed in the ASA County Championships are ineligible for this competition. Teams can be selected from Year 7 or 8, or a combination of both. Each swimmer is allowed to compete in 1 individual event, plus the relay.

 Each school will score points in the 5 events and these will be added together for a final total.

If a school fails to have a competitor in any particular event, they will score 0 points for that event. N.B:  Relay teams MUST have 4 separate swimmers.

The top 3 teams will receive medals (in both gender groups).

Please note that the total entry will be restricted to 12 teams in each gender.
